Jersey Post's Beethoven stamps were a winning entry in Communication Arts magazine's 61st annual design competition, a prestigious international competition showcasing the best in visual communications.Six stamps celebrate the music of Ludwig van Beethoven. Beethoven was a predominant figure in the transitional period between the classical and romantic musical eras. Considered a revolutionary artist and an artistic visionary, his influence is still felt around the world today, including in Jersey where the Jersey Symphony Orchestra have performed a number of his works over the years.
Limited to only 250 available worldwide, our special edition souvenir coin features an iconic portrait of Beethoven on one side and Beethoven's beloved Broadwood piano on the other. The portrait, by Joseph Karl Stieler, shows Beethoven working on the manuscript for Missa solemnis, widely regarded as one of the composer's greatest achievements.The souvenir coin is .999 fine silver plated and comes presented in a black velvet box, with a numbered certificate of authentication included.
Jersey Post have produced a special edition 12" transparent vinyl records featuring some of Beethoven's famous compositions. Limited to only 200 available worldwide, the record comes with a beautiful gatefold album cover containing a mint set of six stamps and a Miniature Sheet from our Celebrating the music of Beethoven stamp issue.
