Lavoir des Dames, also known as the fairies' bath, is a mysterious rectangular hollow in a rock on Jersey's north coast. Some throughout history have suggested the rock pool is manmade due to its unusual shape, but it is now recognised as a natural phenomenon. Legend has it that beautiful fairies bath in the hollow. However, if a person sees them, they are struck blind.
