Additional Information

In continuation of our Pop Culture through the decades series, six stamps explore aspects of 1990s popular culture in Jersey, including language, music, fashion, events, food and drink, and leisure.

Jersey, while only being a small island in the English Channel, continued its march towards the global status the Island now holds in the financial world. As air fares to destinations such as Spain and Turkey became less expensive, Jersey’s tourism and agriculture sectors shrank, and moved away from the post-war tourism boom. Jersey’s financial sector continued to grow exponentially, with the creation of the Jersey Financial Services Commission and the Channel Islands Stock Exchange in 1998.
