The Jersey Post Yearbook 2024
December 6, 2024
Produced by Jersey Post’s Philatelic team, the 2024 Yearbook holds the complete collection of commemorative and definitive stamps issued throughout the year.
2024 has been a year of celebrating various historical achievements, such as 150 years of La Corbière lighthouse first being lit and the Rotary Club of Jersey’s centenary. Anniversaries haven’t been the only cause of commemorations though; the island’s wildlife has also been showcased this year including unique wildlife found both beneath the waves and in the skies. Additionally, historical figures such as those featured within Jersey’s Women of Achievement and French composer, Claude Debussy have been acknowledged and honoured in this year’s collection.
Jersey Post has had the honour of working alongside various organisations and individuals utilising their knowledge for research purposes, including Jersey’s Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Jersey Heritage, the wonderful team at Jersey Archive, various members of the Société Jerriais, Rotary Club of Jersey, Jersey Birds, Ronez, Jersey Dairy, Jersey’s Irish Society and Jersey’s National Trust.
The stamp issues could not be completed without the work of the fantastic artists and photographers, eight of whom were local artists, including; Nicola Miskin, Kevin Pallot, Rosemary Blackmore, Will Bertram, Elvensø Illustration, Kiera Melville, Ron Mills, and Glen Perotte. Returning philatelic artists included China Post’s Chief Art Consultant, Wang Huming, Norwegian engraving artist Martin Mörck and British illustrator Chris Wormell. Special thanks must also be made to the graphic and design agency, SoDesign.
Each issue’s artwork has been stylised to compliment the overall story of each issue, which can be read within the Yearbook. Also included as a two-page spread within the book is the breakdown process of how a stamp issue is created and produced.
The collection of mint commemorative stamps and miniature sheets from 2024 are presented in clear mounts within a quality hardback book. Each stamp issue is accompanied by additional illustrations and information about the subject. The highly collectable yearbook has a limited print run, and collectors are advised to get theirs early to avoid disappointment.
