100 Years of Queen Elizabeth II

Jersey Stamps is proud to announce the release of a special commemorative stamp issue, 100 Years of Queen Elizabeth II, issued on 21 April 2026, marking the centenary of the birth of Britain’s longest‑reigning monarch and celebrating an extraordinary life of service.

Issued as a single £10 stamp, this carefully curated release reflects both the historical significance of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and her enduring connection to the Channel Islands. Designed with collectors in mind, the issue pays tribute to a monarch whose influence was felt not only across the United Kingdom but throughout the Commonwealth and the wider world.

Born on 21 April 1926, Princess Elizabeth was originally third in line to the throne. Her life changed irrevocably following the abdication of her uncle, King Edward VIII, and the accession of her father, King George VI. In 1952, at just 25 years of age, she ascended to the throne, beginning a reign that would span seven decades. Her coronation on 2 June 1953, watched by more than 20 million people worldwide, was the first to be televised and marked the beginning of a new era.

Her ties with Jersey were meaningful and longstanding. Queen Elizabeth II made six official visits to the Channel Islands between 1949 and 2005, and during a visit to the States Chamber in Jersey she spoke warmly of the Island, stating that she “cherished and greatly valued the ancient ties that bind together the Crown and people of this island.”

To accompany the stamp, Jersey Stamps is introducing a new limited‑edition collectible, the Premier Wallet, created especially for this issue. Designed by Holly Gilbert to complement the prestige of the £10 stamp, the Premier Wallet offers collectors an elegant and secure way to present and preserve the issue, adding both display value and exclusivity.

The 100 Years of Queen Elizabeth II stamp issue follows a long tradition of acclaimed Jersey royal issues and will appeal strongly to collectors who have previously enjoyed Jersey’s commemorations of royal milestones and historic reigns.

This special issue will be available from 21 April 2026, offering collectors the opportunity to honour a monarch whose legacy continues to shape history long after her passing.

Designer’s note:

Jersey Stamps wanted this issue to feel prestigious and evoke the Royal subject matter. The iconic photograph of the late Queen on horseback takes centre-stage supported by simple but impactful decorative assets. Rich golds and deep blues have been used for a regal feel complete with gold foil on the stamp sheet and first day cover. A more traditional serif font is a nod to legacy of Her Majesty.
