Art in the Arches

Jersey Stamps is delighted to share its latest stamp issue, Art in the Arches, which features amazing artwork created by local artists, schools and community groups who participated in the ArtHouse Jersey initiative Art in the Arches. The initiative was started in 2024, with the prompt ‘Water, Wate, Everywhere’ which explored our relationship with sources of water. Following on from 2024’s local success, the initiative returned this time with the new theme in 2025 ‘Out of the Blue’, was left open for interpretation, resulting in extraordinary artwork.

After speaking with ArtHouse Jersey, eight pieces of artwork were carefully chosen in order to capture the spirit of both projects. These include:

  • Zara Le Cornu – No Planet B
  • Hautlieu School – Fruits of the Sea (Fisherman)
  • Ocean Culture Life & CAMHS community group – Tide Together
  • Lucy Oats – Save Me and I’ll Save You
  • Jersey College for Girls – One Woman for Every Woman
  • Rouge Bouillon Primary School - A Message to My Future Self
  • Aimee Cast – What’s Beyond
  • Layla Arthur - Sun Shines

The Elizabeth Marina, where the art is situated, is an excellent location owing to its proximity to the water and its role as an area that frequently hosts both residents and tourists arriving by sea, which is a vital water source essential to island life. The idea for the Art in the Arches project originated with local resident Mary Venturini and is supported by Ports of Jersey.

In addition to the stamps, other mural artwork was used in the additional philatelic products including first day covers and presentation packs.

This issue includes a set of eight stamps and a souvenir sheetlet, both of which are available to purchase online or within any Jersey Post office and a miniature sheet, first day covers and presentation packs, which you can purchase at Rue Des Pres or Broad Street and online.
