Jersey Post celebrate Jersey Aero Club 75 Years anniversary
October 26, 2026
Jersey Post is proud to announce the release of Jersey Aero Club 75th Anniversary, a commemorative stamp issue celebrating 75 years of one of the island's most important aviation organisations.
Since its official formation in 1951, Jersey Aero Club has played a central role in the island's aviation community, inspiring generations of pilots, promoting aviation training and fostering a lifelong passion for flight.
Speaking about what fuels the Aero Club’s passion for aviation, Chairman Nigel Hall often returns to a quote that perfectly captures the spirit of flight: “Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward.”
Over the 75 years, the Club has become far more than a flying school, serving as a centre for learning, social connection, and aviation heritage within the island.
From memorable landings and popular air rallies to dedicated instructors and iconic aircraft, the issue highlights the people and stories that have helped shape aviation in Jersey.
The collection also reflects the Aero Club's continuing commitment to the future, showcasing how the organisation has evolved alongside advances in aviation while remaining true to its founding mission of making air travel accessible to islanders.
Upon reflecting on the club’s legacy and the new stamp set, Jersey Aero Club Manager, Jonathan Vibert, said:
“For 75 years, the Jersey Aero Club has been a proud part of the island’s aviation heritage, and we are thrilled to have this milestone recognised with a dedicated stamp collection. It is a fitting tribute to the many pilots, instructors, members, and supporters who have helped shape the Club since 1951. We would like to thank Jersey Post for creating such a wonderful and lasting celebration of our history, which we hope will be enjoyed by aviation enthusiasts and collectors alike.”
The issue’s full philatelic range can be purchased at Jersey Post’s Headquarters at Rue des Pres and within the philatelic section in Broad Street’s Post Office. You can also purchase the set by visiting www.jerseystamps.com or calling the Jersey Stamps team on 01534 616 717.
