Jersey Post’s latest stamp issue highlights the importance of Jersey’s protected plants.
Discover Jersey’s unique flora life in Jersey Post’s new issue Post & Go: Protected Plants. Available from Friday 28 February 2025, the stamp issue features beautiful botanical artwork from British illustrator Hannah George who has used a combination of watercolour, pencil, ink and digital process to create gorgeous illustrations, as demonstrated in this collection.
Jersey is home to a variety of plant life, some of which are protected under the Conservation of Wildlife (Jersey) Law. The plants featured within the set, include:
- Devil’s-Bit Scabious
- Fern
- Forget-Me-Not
- Lesser Water-Plantain
- Wild Celery
- Star Sedge
These plants are protected to ensure their preservation for future generations and can be found all over the island, including in areas such as L’Ouaisné, Les Landes, Bouley Bay, Fern valley and marshy areas nearby La Corbière.
Post & Go is a self-service postage stamp system, which was first introduced by the Royal Mail in 2008 and later adopted by Jersey Post as the next evolution of self-adhesive stamps. Since December 2023, the Royal Mail is no longer issuing Post & Go stamps, while Jersey Post aims to continue the annual issues and overprints.
These new Post & Go stamps will be available for various postage needs, including Local Letter 100g, Local Large 100g, UK Letter 100g, UK Large 100g, Europe 100g, and Rest of World 100g.
