Tales of Saint Helier

Explore the story of Saint Helier, Jersey’s Patron Saint in the new stamp set Tales of Saint Helier. Available from Monday 10 August 2026, the illustrations are reminiscent of medieval tapestries and have been designed by Becca Thorne, a British artist who specialises in lino print artwork. 

There are various stories about the origins of Saint Helier. The version chosen by Jersey Post’s Philatelic team is the most common story and features key moments of his life, including his miraculous birth, his journey to the island and how he inspired those around him, becoming a martyr and leaving a lasting legacy. The final stamp shows the annual procession and ceremony that takes place in a chapel next to Elizabeth Castle in the island’s capital of Saint Helier. 

As well as the beautiful colour palette, the; textures, intricacies and patterns of Becca’s illustrations provided eye-catching backgrounds for the supporting products. Complimentary fonts were selected to echo the historical nature of the issue combining a script and serif font families.
