What is Postcrossing?

Postcrossing is a global postcard exchange project that allows people from all around the world, including Jersey, to connect through the simple joy of sending and receiving postcards.

Founded in 2005, the official Postcrossing platform (www.postcrossing.com ) brings together a passionate community of members who enjoy sharing a glimpse of their country, culture, and personality through an array of postcards.

It's an excellent hobby to get into.  Since the postcrossing forum begun over 82,599,814 postcards have been received by members of the community.

Why is postcrossing important?

With the decline of letter writing, postcrossing provides an outlet for individuals who may still enjoy the traditional method of keeping in touch with another or finding a new philatelic pen pal.

Locally, in Jersey, letters are becoming an increasingly rare occurrence in comparison to sending or receiving parcels. Postcrossing is an excellent at connecting with others across the world and learning more about their cultures. Additionally, some within the postcrossing community enjoy sharing and exchanging stamps.
