2020 marks the 150th birth anniversary of world-renowned Jersey golfer, Harry Vardon. Vardon became the Champion Golfer of the Year of The Open in 1896, 1898, 1899, 1903, 1911 and then again in 1914. He also became USGA U.S. Open Champion in 1900. With this record of wins, Vardon proved himself to be one of golf's greatest ever players. 2020 also marks the 100th anniversary of fellow Jerseyman Ted Ray’s victory at the US Open in 1920.
